The garden, and our room at Mort Bay

The community garden at Rozelle, and the groups that meet in our community room at Mort Bay.

The garden

We have a community garden, and a few chickens who do very well out of the vegetable scraps. People come to grow things, and a good number come because an hour of weeding beside somebody is an easier way to talk than sitting opposite them.

There are garden sessions at Rozelle and at Mort Bay. You do not need to know anything about gardening, and you are welcome to take home whatever is ready.

Mort Bay, along the peninsula

The community room at Mort Bay is ours as well, and it is where a lot of the regular groups live. It is a ten minute walk from the hub and it runs on a different rhythm: activities rather than drop-in.

There is no office and nobody at a desk there, so this is the one place you do need to book. Ring us or email and we will keep you a spot.

What runs at Mort Bay

  • Choir on Monday, for people who were told at school they could not sing
  • Dance group on Tuesday, run for NDIS participants
  • Yoga on Wednesday
  • Community garden sessions through the week
  • Peninsula barbecues, open to the public
